Open call for artists — short residency on pen plotter art

Who we are
Overflow is a venue dedicated to the exploration of the intersection of media, art, politics and technology through exhibits, workshops, performances, residencies, and more. We like to focus on different thematics, be that societal shifts or artistic movements, in quarterly cycles.
This coming January, we will be hosting DRAW(), a cycle focusing on pen plotter art. It will include workshops, projections, conferences, a three-week exhibition and an artist residency, which is the subject of this call.
Details
We welcome applications from artists of all styles, technical backgrounds, and skill levels. The requirement is that your work can be exported to a vector format such as SVG (e.g. from code, visual programming, vector-based software like Illustrator or Inkscape,…).
Selected artist will receive a daily stipend, access to our pen plotters, and our technical expertise on the machines. You will also be provided with a dedicated workspace equipped with a variety of tools, including electronics and woodworking resources.
The resulting work will be shown during the exhibit that will follow the residency.
Who should apply
Artists from all backgrounds, artistic styles, and technical skill levels are encouraged to apply.
Requirements
Applicants must have a practice that allows for, or can be adapted to, exporting work in a vector format. This can include processes based in code, visual programming (e.g. TouchDesigner), or vector graphics software (e.g. Adobe Illustrator, Inkscape).
